Many of you may know Crystal Cole, one of our fantastic instructors based in Arkansas. Crystal and Hachya Franklin, one of our awesome Drums Alive Master Trainers, bring so much activity to the Arkansas area and well beyond. We want to shine a spotlight on Crystal this week as she was recently recognized as the Silver Sneakers FLEX® instructor for the quarter! This is a very high honor as there are over 10,000 FLEX® instructors and only four instructors are chosen each year. Here is the write-up that Kathryn Graham of Silver Sneakers did in one of their quarterly newsletters!
“Crystal Cole is the Program Director at Faithfully Fit, a mobile fitness studio based in Van Buren, Arkansas. Often known as ‘The Drum Lady’ or ‘Drummer Girl,’ Crystal currently teaches Drums Alive Golden Beats® classes in 13 senior living facilities throughout Western and Northwestern Arkansas. Within 3 months of joining her first Drums Alive® class in 2012, Crystal began leading that same class and committed herself to becoming a Drums Alive instructor and a certified SilverSneakers FLEX® instructor.
Using the Drums Alive program as a foundation for all she does, she is dedicated to combining music with movement and drumming techniques to create group fitness experiences that are not only beneficial to the mind and body but are also absurdly fun, exciting and uplifting for the soul. One of her participants once said, ‘Drums Alive class is so much fun that I forget I am even exercising.’ Crystal also leads classes for those of all ages, all abilities and all fitness levels including those with developmental and physical disabilities, autism, various forms of dementia and more.
