The Neurological Connection

Drums Alive has always been proud to be research- and evidence-backed. We are also constantly looking for new research opportunities for Drums Alive to take part in.

In the coming months, we will be collaborating with the University of Kentucky, Bellarmine University and the Norton Neuroscience Institute Resource Center. The purpose of this collaboration is to view the effects that Drums Alive has on Parkinson’s disease.

On October 18-19 we will be taking part in the Parkinson’s Wellness Retreat: The Art of Expression in Louisville, KY. This program is for both individuals diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and family members (i.e. spouse, child, sibling, parent), friends, or caregivers.

This retreat will focus on specific training and education regarding Parkinson’s. The activities—highlighting the art of expression—will include yoga, music, art, a presentation on nutrition, and much more.

We are honored to take part in this retreat and in further research with these groups. After the retreat, we will sit down with our collaborating partners to discuss full research studies that we will be doing regarding Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and Dementia. We will continue to update you all on any new developments and findings from our studies.

We know how important access to our research is to everyone. If you have not visited our Research page on the Drums Alive website recently, we would like to invite you to do so. Here, we constantly add and update information regarding research studies in which we take an active role, and we cite these and other research for easy access.
